The Volunteer Auxiliary at Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center has awarded $12,500 in donations to local nonprofits and student scholarship funds.
The awards included $2,000 to the Cuesta College Foundation for nursing program book grants; $2,000 to the Cal Poly Endowment Fund; $1,500 to the Cuesta College Foundation for student scholarships; $1,500 to the Eleanor Sears Endowment Fund; $1,000 to Transitions-Mental Health Association; $1,000 for a student scholarship to Jennifer Tran, Sierra Vista Volunteer Auxiliary; and $500 each to Hospice of SLO County, San Luis Obispo, Morro Bay and 5 Cities Meals on Wheels, Prado Day Center, Meals That Connect, and SLO Noor Foundation.

A news release from the agency said: “The funding from Chevron, combined with additional sources, allows the agency to serve over 260 children throughout the county by pairing vulnerable local youth with quality adult role models.”
The Paso Robles Lions Club recently honored student athletes from Paso Robles High School with Sportsmanship Awards at a dinner hosted by the club.
The athletes were voted for by peers in the sport they participated in.
The awardees include: Mathew Horne, James Claassen, Mathew Mayfield, Breanna Williams, Connor Nolan, Connor Lacy, Nicole Raithel, Madison Homen, Jeraly Escamilla-Stunt, Grant Scheiffele, Shannen Dodds, Yalina Curry, Evan Prouix, Victor Jimenez, Jacob Franklin, John East, Codie Wilshusen, Julia Nunez, Micah Canales and Genaro Zatarain.
