Good News about the Paderewski Festival and the Pismo Beach Cities Lions Club

The board of directors of the 2016 Paderewski Festival in Paso Robles recently announced the winners of its annual Youth Piano Competition. Two local pianists won awards out of 16 competitors from four counties.

Andy Cai Shen, 10, a student at Bishop’s Peak Elementary School in San Luis Obispo is the recipient of the Paderewski Legacy Award.

Jack Raventos, 16, of San Luis Obispo placed second in the senior division. He was a finalist in the 2012 and 2014 competitions and participated in the 2013 cultural exchange program in Poland.

Jack currently studies with Lynne Garrett.

They will perform for the public at 4 p.m. Saturday with all the awardees at the Youth Competition Winners’ Recital at the Paso Robles Inn ballroom.
