Grover police get grant to fight alcohol-related crime
The Grover Beach Police Department has been awarded a $16,368 grant from the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control to prevent alcohol-related crime.
The grant is one of 54 awarded in California to law enforcement agencies through ABC’s Grant Assistance Program, a Grover Beach news release said. The grants strengthen local law enforcement efforts by combining the efforts of local police and ABC agents.
The funds will be used to reduce the number of alcoholic beverage sales to minors, obviously intoxicated patrons, illegal solicitations of alcohol and other criminal activities like the sale and possession of illegal drugs, according to the release.
