VOLUME to host Lucia Mar board candidate information night
Local education advocacy group Voice of Lucia Mar for Education will host Wednesday an information night for community members interested in running for the Lucia Mar Unified School District Board of Trustees.
Three trustee seats are open in the Nov. 8 general election: two for the Pismo Beach and Grover Beach area and one for the Arroyo Grande area. The filing period opened July 18 and closes Aug. 12.
Chad Robertson, the current board president and Nipomo trustee who is not up for re-election, will be on hand to give insight into what the position entails and answer questions. Informational materials will be available to potential candidates, including instructions for filing with the San Luis Obispo County Clerk-Recorder’s Office, as well as details on responsibilities, expectations, benefits and support for board members.
The event will take place from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Rabobank community conference room at 899 Grand Ave. in Grover Beach.
