SLO police to conduct DUI patrols

San Luis Obispo drivers should be on the lookout for extra police during evening and overnight hours Thursday through Saturday.

The San Luis Obispo Police Department’s DUI Enforcement Team will be conducting a series of saturation patrols from 5 p.m. to 3 a.m. to catch drug- and alcohol-impaired drivers.

Police will be patrolling areas throughout the city that have seen the most DUI crashes and arrests. Officers will be looking for signs of alcohol and drug impairment and will check for proper licensing.

Funding for the DUI patrols was provided by the California Office of Traffic Safety and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
