Fire burns brush near Octagon Barn in SLO

Crews quickly contained a small fire near the Octagon Barn on South Higuera Street in San Luis Obispo on Sunday afternoon, Cal Fire Capt. Dave Kay said.

About 3:10 p.m., crews were dispatched to a small roadside fire burning heavy brush. All crews initially dispatched, including an aircraft, were canceled soon after, except for the two engines that were already on scene, Kay said.

The Cal Fire and San Luis Obispo Fire Department crews quickly extinguished the fire.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, Kay said.
