“Have a jammed zipper on your down jacket? Let’s fix it. See a nasty tear on your sleeping pad? We’ll help you patch it up. Got a day pack with a missing buckle? Don’t you worry, we’ll teach you how to sew on a new one,” the companies said in touting their event. It will be held at The Mountain Air store at 667 Marsh St. in San Luis Obispo between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.
Repair technicians (including Patagonia’s Worn Wear representatives) will help people fix their items for free.
Tutorials will be held throughout the day on the topics of zipper and buckle repair, tent and sleeping pad repair and apparel care and boot repair.
Participants can win prizes by bringing old gear to donate. The Grilled Cheese Incident food truck will be on site, and participants will get a free beer tasting voucher from The Libertine Brewing Company.
