Oceano house fire displaces six residents
A Friday afternoon house fire left an Oceano home uninhabitable and displaced six residents.
Five Cities firefighters responded about 11:45 a.m. to a structure fire on the 1300 block of Lazy Lane. Responders found flames coming from the front of the last house on a flag lot, said fire Chief Steve Lieberman, who also said he could see smoke from the fire while driving on Highway 101 near Brisco Road.
The blaze also reached the home’s attic area, although crews were able to put flames out fairly quickly, Lieberman said. Cal Fire and the San Luis Obispo Fire Department were on hand to help Five Cities crews.
The Red Cross will help the six inhabitants of the home and their pets find clothing and temporary shelter, Lieberman said.
The cost of the damage from the fire has not been calculated, but Lieberman said the entire house was full of smoke.
The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
