A networking event will be held Monday for workers displaced by the Paris Precision closure, according to a news release from San Luis Obispo County Workforce Development.

The Paso Robles company is scheduled to close May 22; 130 employees will be laid off.

The county Rapid Response team is hosting the event from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at the Paso Robles City Hall. The event is being held exclusively for employees of Paris Precision; however, a handful of recently laid-off workers from other local companies were also invited.

The networking event is an opportunity for Paris Precision employees to meet with local businesses that are hiring.

TAD PGS Inc. Adecco Government Solutions, Regional Transit Authority and Idler’s are among the businesses confirmed to attend the event Monday. Representatives for local resources will also be there.

To help prepare workers for the event, America’s Job Center of California held two workshops at Paris Precision on topics including basic rèsumè preparation, networking and interviewing.

The Rapid Response team is a cooperative among the Local Workforce Development Board Rapid Response Coordinator, America’s Job Center of California and the Employment Development Department to help employers and workers during a mass layoff or plant closure, according to the news release.
