A fire on Friday afternoon burned 15 acres of grassland in an area east of Santa Margarita.

The blaze, which Cal Fire crews responded to at 4:24 p.m., started in grass near Shell Creek and Truesdale roads.

Firefighters used air and ground resources to battle the flames, which they contained at 5:29 p.m., according to Cal Fire.

No structures were damaged in the fire.
