Oso Flaco Lake in Oceano home to melodious songbirds

A Bewick’s wren sings a melodious song near Oso Flaco Lake at the Oceano Dunes State Vehicular Recreation Area on a recent April day.

The wildlife area is home to more than 200 species of bird.

Winter storms have helped refill the lake, and a low-pressure system expected to move over the Central Coast later this week could bring a bit more rain.
