San Miguel to improve drainage in flood-prone area
Work to improve drainage in a flood-prone area of San Miguel started Monday and is expected to continue to the end of the month.
San Luis Obispo County Public Works Department employees will perform the work on N Street between River Road and 13th Street. The project includes the installation of 275 feet of underground pipes, inlets, clean outs and manholes.
Minor paving and grading are expected to be part of the work. It will address chronic flooding in the area and improve water quality as required by the recently completed River Road widening project.
The work will be funded by San Miguel drainage improvement fees and county road funds.
