Paso Robles woman killed in Hwy. 101 crash in Templeton is identified

UPDATE 1 p.m.: The Paso Robles woman killed in a solo vehicle collision Thursday morning has been identified as 23-year-old Karina Almaguer Lopez. The California Highway Patrol says the crash remains under investigation and drugs or alcohol impairment have not been ruled out as a factor.

ORIGINAL STORY: A 23-year-old Paso Robles woman was killed in a crash on Highway 101 in Templeton early Thursday morning.

The woman was driving a Kia Optima northbound when she lost control of her car just after midnight, according to the CHP. The car drifted onto the shoulder and hit the metal guard rail and the concrete column of the Main Street overpass.

The woman, who has not yet been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene. She was the only person in the vehicle.
