Highway 101 resurfacing to start in San Luis Obispo

A project to resurface 9 miles of Highway 101 through San Luis Obispo is scheduled to start Tuesday.

The $4.5 million project will extend the life of the pavement in both directions of the highway from South Higuera Street/Ontario Road to north of Reservoir Canyon Road, according to a news release from Caltrans. It is expected to be completed in May, weather permitting.

Drivers will encounter lane closures from 9 p.m. until 6 a.m. Sunday nights through Friday mornings during the project. Delays should not exceed 10 minutes, and at least one highway lane will remain open at all times.

For traffic updates on other state highways in San Luis Obispo County, contact Caltrans District 5 Public Affairs at 549-3318 or go to www.dot.ca.gov/dist05/road_information.htm.
