Man airlifted to hospital after fall in Montaña de Oro State Park

A man was airlifted to the hospital after he slipped on rocks and fell at Hazard Canyon Reef in Montaña de Oro State Park on Sunday afternoon, Cal Fire Capt. Dave Kay said.

Officials received a report of the incident at 1:11 p.m. The middle-aged man lost consciousness after the fall and suffered a cut to his cheek, Kay said.

He regained consciousness, and he was taken to Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center in San Luis Obispo in a CalSTAR helicopter, Kay said.

Cal Fire and San Luis Ambulance also responded to the scene.
