Former Cal Poly basketball player in Brussels okay
Former Cal Poly basketball star Chris Eversley, who plays professional basketball in Brussels, has informed his coach and the public through Twitter that he’s safe after Tuesday’s deadly bombings in that city.
Eversley lives about 10 minutes away from where the bombings occurred, Cal Poly basketball coach Joe Callero said.
Eversley tweeted his thanks Tuesday to all who contacted him after the terrorist attack. “Thank you everyone for the messages, praying for those involved this morning and those still involved now,” he wrote. “Pray for a better tomorrow.”
Meanwhile, Cal Poly spokesman Matt Lazier said Wednesday that none of the university’s students are studying abroad in Belgium. The university has been sensitive to the concerns of its students in other European countries, in light of the attack.
“We are reaching out to the more than 100 students and employees throughout Europe to confirm their safety and offer any support and assistance the university can provide,” Lazier said.
