Templeton residents elect new members to advisory council
The Templeton Area Advisory Group held its election meeting Thursday evening , with three incumbents and four new candidates running for six seats on the advisory council.
During a three-hour polling period, 112 people living within the boundaries of the Templeton Unified School District cast their votes, according to a news release.
The four candidates who received the highest number of votes will serve a two-year term; they are Alice Griselle, Larry Stone, Christopher Davis (all new candidates) and Sarah Maggelet (an incumbent).
In addition, the fifth- and sixth-place candidates will serve a one-year term as alternate delegates; they are Jeff DeBrish (an incumbent) and Murray Powell (a new candidate).
The organization provides feedback and recommendations to the San Luis Obispo County Board of Supervisors, the county Planning Commission, the Planning Department and other agencies that request community input on land use and planning matters that affect Templeton.
