Small earthquake reported near Templeton

A magnitude-3.4 earthquake rattled an area west of Templeton on Thursday night.

The quake was reported at 8:12 p.m., according to the U.S. Geological Survey website. The epicenter was about 5 miles west of Templeton and 9 miles southwest of Paso Robles.

By 8:30 p.m., many people reported feeling the quake, including 75 from Paso Robles, 49 from Templeton and 65 from Atascadero, according to the USGS “Did You Feel It?” website. All described it as weak.
