Gas lines being replaced in Pismo Beach

A project to install new gas lines under State Route 1 in Pismo Beach will begin Monday.

The lines will be installed under Dolliver Street from Price Street to Mattie Road, Caltrans said. The work was originally scheduled to begin on Feb. 8, but was delayed.

Crews are scheduled to work Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Traffic on Price Street, Bello Street, Mattie Road and Price Canyon Road will be slower than usual and sometimes reduced to one lane. Electric message boards, safety cones and flaggers will be on site directing traffic. Drivers should adhere to all traffic safety measures while driving past the construction zone.

This gas line project is being performed by the Southern California Gas Company, under permit from Caltrans. It is expected to be complete by the end of March, weather permitting.
