A woman was injured after she was hit by a train in Pismo Beach on Wednesday night.

Alena Gribanova, 22, said she was pushing her bicycle while walking on the tracks near the 300 block of Bello Street at 8:13 p.m. when she heard a train sound its horn, according to Pismo Beach police. Gribanova, a Pismo Beach resident, said she started running to try to get off the tracks when she realized the train was behind her.

The train was unable to stop before hitting Gribanova and her bicycle, according to police. She was taken to a local hospital to be treated for her injuries.

Neither alcohol nor drugs appear to have been a factor in the incident, according to police.
