Paso Robles OKs plans for senior care facility
The Paso Robles Planning Commission has approved plans to build a 101-bed residential assisted living center and memory care facility for seniors.
Called The Oaks at Paso Robles, the three-story building would be located at South River Road and Serenade Drive. It would have 73 assisted living and 24 memory care units.
At the direction of the commission, the overall height of the project was reduced by an average of 7 feet. This reduced the overall scale of the building as viewed from the street but more of the building envelope has been filled in. Patios and glass doors are now proposed along the ground level rather than retaining walls, said Warren Frace, city community development director in a staff report.
“However, the project still presents a large, continuous building along the street frontage,” he said.
The decision on the project was postponed from the commission’s October meeting.
