Morro Bay man arrested after allegedly making threats and assaulting an officer
Officers arrested a Morro Bay man Friday evening after he allegedly made threats at a residence and assaulted an officer, according to Morro Bay police Senior Officer Maria Lomeli.
Officers were called to a disturbance at a Morro Bay residence where the reporting party said that the suspect, Nathan Jones, 46, of Morro Bay, had allegedly made threats, Lomeli said. Jones had fled from the scene prior to police arrival.
Jones was later located in the area of Morro Bay Boulevard and Monterey Avenue in Morro Bay, where he allegedly resisted arrest and assaulted one of the officers, Lomeli said. She added that Jones was allegedly under the influence of alcohol.
He was booked into San Luis Obispo County Jail on suspicion of felony threat to commit a crime with intent to terrorize, felony battery on a police officer, misdemeanor resisting arrest and misdemeanor drunk in public.
He remained in custody in lieu of $50,000 bail Sunday evening.
