A forecast of rain has prompted organizers to move Saturday’s Tamale Festival from the Sunken Gardens to the Pavilion at the Lake in Atascadero.

The festival will be held from noon to 4 p.m. at the pavilion at 9315 Pismo Ave.

The event, in its first year, will feature homemade tamales from different vendors, along with “Most Popular Tamale” and “Judges Favorite Tamale” contests, the winners of which will be announced at 3:30 pm. The festival will include dancing and a Mariachi band, face painting, balloon animals and vendors ranging from arts and crafts to other types of food.

During the event, the Tamale Festival Deal will offer four tamales for $10. Festival Deal tickets are on sale through Friday at the Colony Park Community Center at 5599 Traffic Way and will be available at the event while supplies last.
