Los Padres National Forest officials have announced that maintenance and repair work on West Cuesta Ridge Road, also known as TV Tower Road, will begin Tuesday.
Because of safety concerns, hikers, mountain bikers and other recreationists are advised to refrain from entering the area until the road maintenance is completed. West Cuesta Ridge Road is currently closed to public motorized vehicles until road repairs are done.
Completion of the roadwork is expected by March 1; however, road reopening may be delayed if there is persistent wet weather.
West Cuesta Ridge Road begins at the junction of Highway 101 at the Cuesta Grade summit and West Cuesta Ridge Road, and continues 7.1 miles northwesterly to Tassajera Peak.
“We greatly appreciate our community’s patience and understanding as we work through these road repairs as quickly as possible,” Santa Lucia District Ranger Nathan Rezeau said.
