Utility customers of the city of Morro Bay may have received recent incorrect information on their billing as to how their account is being paid.
Deputy City Manager Sam Taylor issued a news release that noted a watermark that provides information on automatic debiting of bank accounts has appeared on customer bills who haven’t signed up for that service.
The watermark was “inadvertently placed on all bills, including for customers who have not signed up for automatic debiting,” Taylor said.
“Those customers will not have their bank account automatically withdrawn from, and the city would like to ensure that is clear,” Taylor added.
