Police are investigating allegations that a female teacher at Arroyo Grande High School sexually assaulted a male student.

Arroyo Grande Police Cmdr. Beau Pryor confirmed that the student is a minor. The teacher’s name was not released on Tuesday.

The teacher has been placed on administrative leave, and the investigation is ongoing. According to police, the teacher hadn’t been arrested and no criminal charges had been filed with the San Luis Obispo County District Attorney’s Office as of late Tuesday afternoon.

Allegations of a sexual assault were brought to the attention of the Arroyo Grande High School administration, which notified the Arroyo Grande Police Department on Friday, according to a news release.

Police say no additional information about the investigation would be provided at this time. The Lucia Mar Unified School District had no immediate comment, a district spokeswoman said.
