The Eroica California cycling event will return to Paso Robles this spring — from April 8 to 10 in Downtown City Park.
The event, originating from Italy, showcases vintage road bikes from the early 1900s through 1987. In its first year last spring, the event drew as many as 1,000 cyclists to mostly back roads in San Luis Obispo County’s North County and North Coast areas.
Four routes are slated for 2016, taking cyclists through Atascadero, Paso Robles, Templeton, Cambria and Cayucos.
Because of the success of its inaugural year, the event also will expand to a three-day festival in Paso Robles. The festival will celebrate cycling’s historic roots with a vintage bike show and contest, vintage swap meet, cycling expo and live entertainment.
