Vistas at Piedras Blancas and San Simeon reopen

Highway 1 vista points at Piedras Blancas and San Simeon Bay are among those on the Central Coast that have reopened after undergoing renovations that include the installation of interpretive displays, Caltrans says.

Both vista points are north of Cambria.

Caltrans also announced the reopening of the Arroyo Hondo Vista Point on Highway 101 in Santa Barbara County as of Wednesday, following a similar project.

The Rancho Cielo Vista Point on Highway 154 in Santa Barbara County remains closed, along with the Julia Pfeiffer Burns Vista Point and La Selva Vista Point, in Monterey and Santa Cruz counties, respectively. The latter two northern locations will be closed until the end of the year, Caltrans said.

RSB Group of Lake Forest is handling the work under the $699,000 Transportation Enhancement Project.
