Atascadero police versus Hotshots basketball team at fundraiser
The Hotshots, the local Special Olympics basketball team, will take on members of the Atascadero Police Department for their third annual match-up on Dec. 6.
The fundraiser will benefit the Special Olympics programs in San Luis Obispo County. The Hotshots team travels throughout the state, representing the Central Coast in competition, and have a 2-0 record against the Atascadero police.
The game will kick off at 3 p.m. Dec. 6 at the Colony Park Community Center Gymnasium with a Tri Tip and chicken barbeque dinner immediately following at 5 p.m. Tickets for the barbeque cost $12 each or $10 apiece for parties of four or more, and can be purchased from the Atascadero Chamber of Commerce.
Admission to the event is free but donations wil be accepted at the door. For more information, call Atascadero Police Chief Jerel Haley at 461-5051.
