Suspect arrested in connection with downtown SLO stabbing
A San Luis Obispo man was arrested early Saturday morning after police say he stabbed a man in downtown San Luis Obispo.
Shiloh Ferreira, 27, allegedly confronted a group of six males in their mid-to-late twenties in the 1000 block of Broad Street at about 1:20 a.m. According to the San Luis Obispo Police Department, Ferreira got into a fight with one of the men, and stabbed him with a razor, before fleeing the scene.
Police say the victim’s injuries were non-life threatening, and he was transported to a local hospital for further medical attention.
At about 3 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 1300 block of Garden Street for a suspicious male. Responding officers located Ferreira and found that he matched the description of the suspect from the earlier assault call.
Witnesses from the stabbing were able to positively identify Ferreira, and he was booked into county jail for assault with a deadly weapon. His bail is set at $5,000.00.
San Luis Obispo Police Sgt. John Villanti said Ferreira gave his address as a local homeless shelter.
