Warning signs are posted across Morro Bay beaches after surfers spotted a shark about 100 yards from shore near Morro Strand State Beach on Friday morning.
The Morro Bay Harbor Department said it was notified by California State Parks about
9:30 a.m. of a credible sighting, although officials said they did not know the breed or length of the shark.
Warning signs were posted along the beach from Toro Creek to Morro Rock, and will remain up for at least 72 hours, according to the Harbor Department.
