The San Luis Obispo Elks Lodge will offer a haunted house and carnival on Friday and Saturday night.
The free family-friendly event will include games, prizes, a bounce house, photo booth and haunted house for older children, according to a news release, which billed it as a “safe place for kids to get scared and have fun.” The event is also one of the lodge’s largest drug awareness program nights, and information on substance abuse prevention will be available.
Donations are not required but appreciated, with proceeds going to youth activities. Adult supervision is required for children under 13. The event will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday and 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday at 222 Elks Lane in San Luis Obispo.
The Elks first put together a haunted house in the 1960s; its current run started about six years ago and has seen continued growth.
