Los Padres National Forest officials will close West Cuesta Ridge Road for one year to complete road repairs.
From Nov. 1 through Oct. 31, 2016, the road from the Highway 101 junction at the Cuesta Grade summit to Tassajara Peak will be closed to vehicle access.
During that time, the popular hiking destination will remain open to hikers and other non-motorized recreation.
The U.S. Forest Service said in a news release that private residents and lease holders will be allowed motorized access to their homes and businesses.
