Fire burns vegetation near Santa Lucia school in Cambria

Firefighters were mopping up a vegetation fire near Santa Lucia Middle School in Cambria on Sunday afternoon.

The fire, which began about 2:40 p.m., burned in a field on Eton Road near the middle school, according to initial reports, Cal Fire spokesman David Kay said.

The fire was contained to a quarter-acre about 2:55 p.m., Kay said.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, and no injuries have been reported, Kay said.
