The Grover Beach Parks and Recreation Department will host its annual Carved Pumpkin Contest and Halloween Activities on Oct. 30. The event will take place at Ramona Garden Park from 5 to 8 p.m., with registration for the pumpkin carving contest from 5 to 6 p.m. Participants are encouraged to bring their already carved or decorated pumpkins to be entered in the following categories: Ages 6 and under (Decorated entries only — no carved pumpkins will be allowed in this age category), Ages 7 to 9, Ages 10 to 14, Ages 15 to 17, 18 and older, Business — no more than two entries per business.
In addition to the Carved Pumpkin Contest, other activities include carnival games by the Arroyo Grande High School LINK Crew, popcorn, hot dogs provided and prepared by the Grover Beach Rotary, goodie bags for the first 250 children in costume and Ballooney the Clown.
