Park Hill Fire is fully contained, Cal Fire says
The Park Hill Fire was fully contained Wednesday evening, according to Cal Fire.
The cost estimate for the fire is $3.5 million.
The 1,791-acre blaze was sparked Saturday afternoon by an unknown vehicle that ejected a hot chunk of carbon from its exhaust pipe and ignited grass along Las Pilitas Road east of Santa Margarita.
Two houses were destroyed, as well as four mobile homes, two recreational vehicles used as primary residences, 10 outbuildings and seven vehicles, including a boat and trailer.
