Ladies' room at Madonna Inn up for America's Best Restroom

The Madonna Inn has long been the ruler in lavish and eccentric decor, but it soon may sit on a different sort of throne — a porcelain one.

The ladies' room adjoining Alex Madonna's Gold Rush Steak House is in the running to be named America’s Best Restroom by Cincinnati-based business Cintas, which manufactures restroom supplies among other household necessities.

According to a news release, the Madonna Inn restroom’s colorful palette, carved wood doors and original stone walls all contributed to the nomination.

And this isn’t the first time a Madonna Inn toilet has bowled the judges over. 

In 2005, the steakhouse’s men’s toilet was also in the running for Best Restroom and managed to place fifth in the competition.

Voting for the Best Restroom is open until Oct. 31, and people are invited to vote on their favorite bathrooms at www.bestrestroom.com. The winners will be announced later in the year, and both first and second place will earn spots in the company’s Hall of Fame.
