The 2013 San Luis Obispo Marathon and half-marathon will be held April 21, 2013, and keep the same course as this year's inaugural run, according to event organizers.

The number of participants could triple. Heather Hellman, the SLO Marathon event director, said that a large turnout is expected because Active.com named the San Luis Obispo marathon as one of the top Boston qualifiers and spring marathons.

The half-marathon will be capped at 6,000 runners and the marathon at 2,000. The initial marathon only offered 2,800 spots for the two races combined.

The 5K race will take place on April 20 and will be capped at 1,000 runners.

Registration for all races will open July 21. To register, view course maps, volunteer or get more details, visit www.slomarathon.com.
