Pedestrian killed by car on Los Osos Valley Road is identified

The California Highway Patrol has identified the pedestrian struck and killed by a vehicle Tuesday night on Los Osos Valley Road as Michael Jason Brito, 24, of Los Osos.

The CHP said in a news release that Brito died at the scene from multiple blunt-force trauma injuries.

In October 2014, Brito was a passenger in a single-vehicle crash on Highway 1 that killed two people, including a 22-month-old boy. A felony DUI case is ongoing against the driver of that vehicle.

Tuesday's crash remained under investigation Wednesday, according to the CHP.
