Update, 3:35 p.m.:

The two climbers were safely rescued from Morro Rock around 3:30 p.m., according to emergency scanner traffic.

All units were being released from the scene.

Update, 3:15 p.m.:

Rescue personnel made contact with the two climbers and began walking them to safety Sunday afternoon, according to emergency radio traffic.

Emergency crews responded Sunday afternoon to a reported cliff rescue involving two climbers on Morro Rock in Morro Bay.

According to emergency radio traffic, the climbers were about 100 feet up the Rock.

Cal Fire, Morro Bay Harbor Patrol and California State Parks personnel were responding to the scene.

As of 3 p.m., rescue personnel were being sent to assist the climbers, according to emergency radio.
