Multi-vehicle crash backs up traffic on Highway 101 in SLO
Northbound traffic on Highway 101 was backed up through San Luis Obispo after a multi-car pileup on Friday afternoon.
According to the California Highway Patrol incident information page, two vehicles were initially involved in a rear-end accident in the northbound lanes near the Madonna Road off-ramp at around 1:30 p.m.
The fender-bender caused three other vehicles to collide just minutes later, CHP reported.
By 1:33 p.m., an ambulance was called to the scene, though the CHP hadn’t reported any injuries.
Traffic continued to build by 2:15 p.m., backed up past the Los Osos Valley Road off-ramp, according to Caltrans traffic cams.
