Cal Poly Administration Building evacuated due to electrical fire
An electrical fire forced evacuations at the Cal Poly Administration Building on Friday afternoon.
According to the emergency response app PulsePoint, the fire was reported at 1:38 p.m. at the building on South Perimeter Road where university President Jeffrey Armstrong’s and other campus administrators’ offices are located.
Armstrong and his floor had to be evacuated shortly after the fire was reported, according to emergency scanner traffic.
One potential burn injury was reported.
Before 2 p.m., maintenance was on the scene addressing a small short in a mechanical box and all but one fire engine called to the scene were canceled, according to emergency scanner traffic.
