Quail Creek Bridge on Creston Road in Paso Robles sustained major damage in the 2023 winter storms. The bridge is scheduled to be repaired starting June 1, 2026, with traffic delays expected through Sept. 4.

A bridge repair will require the closure of a key road outside Paso Robles for much of the summer.

Beginning in June, North County drivers can expect traffic detours while the Quail Creek Bridge, located on Creston Road near South El Pomar Road, is repaired after sustaining severe damage during the 2023 winter storms.

The work will require a full closure of Creston Road at South El Pomar Road through Creston Ridge Lane, a county news release said.

Traffic will be detoured from June 1 through Sept. 4, with partial closures before and after as needed, the release said. The expected detour for most residents and visitors to the area is via El Pomar Drive to Cripple Creek Road.

The bridge’s repair follows the 2023 winter storms, which caused significant damage to the roadway and bridge supports at Quail Creek. Temporary repairs were completed in 2023 for continued access while the county designed a new replacement.

Construction is expected to be complete in winter 2026.
