Fully involved vehicle fire spreads to vegetation off Hwy. 101 in SLO County

A vehicle fire spread into nearby vegetation Friday afternoon near Highway 101 and Highway 46 West in Paso Robles, according to Paso Robles Fire and Emergency Services.

At 4:04 p.m., crews were dispatched to the area for a reported vehicle fire.

The first arriving unit found a passenger vehicle heavily involved in flames with fire threatening nearby vegetation, the department said.

Crews were able to quickly stop the forward progress of the vegetation fire and extinguish the vehicle fire.

Paso Robles Fire and Emergency Services responded with two fire engines and a chief officer. Additional crews from Cal Fire/San Luis Obispo County Fire and the Templeton Fire Department also responded under a mutual aid agreement.

California Highway Patrol and Paso Robles Police Department assisted at the scene.
