One person was transported to the hospital after crashing into an overpass in Morro Bay on Thursday.

The crash was reported at the intersection of Highway 1 and South Bay Boulevard around 2:58 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol Incident Information Page.

A vehicle crashed into the overpass, sustaining minor front-end damage, the page said.

CHP spokesperson Angela Molinar told The Tribune that the driver of the vehicle was injured in the crash and was transported to the hospital.

Molinar did not have details about the extent of the patient’s injuries, or an update on their condition.

The crash did damage signage in the area, Molinar said.

Officers were still on scene as of 4:10 p.m., she added.
