Car crash forces detour on major road in SLO County

Santa Barbara Road has been reopened, the Atascadero Police Department said.

A vehicle crash slowed traffic to crawl and closed portion of a major road in Atascadero on Thursday morning.
Santa Barbara Road was closed to all eastbound traffic at southbound El Camino Real as of 9:20 a.m., the Atascadero Police Department said in a Facebook post.
Police said traffic was being detoured in the aftermath of the crash.
“Please expect delays and use alternate routes if possible,” the agency said in the post. “Drive safely, and thank you for your patience.”
Atascadero police did not immediately release any other details about the collision.
