SLO County motorcycle officer injured in collision with car

A motorcycle officer with the Grover Beach Police Department was injured in a car crash on Monday afternoon.

The collision occurred around 1:09 p.m. at the intersection of 4th Street and West Grand Avenue, the Grover Beach Police Department said in a news release. The crash was between the motorcycle officer and a car, Officer Nelida Aceves told The Tribune.

The officer was hospitalized with minor injuries and has since been released, the release said. No other injuries were reported.

No further details on how the crash occurred were provided, but everyone involved remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation, the release said.

The collision remains under investigation, but there is no suspicion of drugs or alcohol, the release said.

“The Grover Beach Police Department would like to thank the community members who stopped to render aid and offer assistance to our officer,” the release said.
