SLO County city plans Fourth of July bash for nation’s 250th birthday
Paso Robles is planning its biggest Fourth of July celebration yet this year, in honor of the nation’s 250th birthday.
“Paso Robles is gearing up for a once-in-a-generation celebration that promises to unite the community in an unforgettable display of patriotism, pride and connection,” the city said in a news release Monday.
This year’s Independence Day event will take place at Barney Schwartz Park off of Union Road south of Highway 46 East, the city said.
It will feature live music, local food vendors and family entertainment options like carnival games, bounce houses and an obstacle course, the release said.
“As the sun sets, the celebration will culminate in a breathtaking fireworks spectacular, illuminating the Paso Robles sky in honor of this historic milestone,” the city said.
Celebrations in previous years have drawn crowds of over 10,000 people — and the city hopes to build on that success in 2026.
Both parking and admission to the event will be free, and complimentary RV slots overlooking the park will be available on site on a first-come-first-served basis, the city said.
Paso Robles looking for Fourth of July sponsorships
Community members will also have the chance to help make the event a success.
The city posted a list of sponsorship opportunities, including monetary or in-kind donations, ranging from $500 to the $45,000 fireworks sponsorship.
“Sponsors will benefit from extensive visibility through social media, promotional materials and on-site recognition,” the city said. “In addition, sponsors will enjoy exclusive perks such as access to a VIP/Sponsor Zone featuring food and beverages, reserved parking, and premium fireworks viewing.”
Prospective sponsors were encouraged to donate online or via Venmo to the REC Foundation, the July 4 city website said. With questions, sponsors were encouraged to contact assistant city manager David Malewitz at 805-635-5483.
