Car smashes into tree in downtown SLO crash
A car crashed into a tree on the sidewalk in the 800 block of Santa Rosa Street in San Luis Obispo on Monday afternoon.
Just after 3 p.m., a gray Toyota crashed into a tree, according to a post on the San Luis Obispo Police Department’s Facebook.
The crash caused the entire front bumper of the car to be crushed and nearly uprooted the tree, which leaned at an angle in photos shared of the crash.
A DUI was not suspected as part of the crash, and the driver of the car is not injured, the Police Department wrote in the post.
City staff will determine whether the tree needs to be removed and replaced for pedestrian and driver safety, the post said.
