At least one person was trapped in a vehicle crash on Highway 1 near the northern San Luis Obispo County line on Monday evening.

Around 5:03 p.m., a reporting party said at least one person was confined in a vehicle following a collision about 1.5 miles north of Ragged Point on Highway 1, according to the California Highway Patrol’s incident page. The northbound lane was blocked, according to emergency radio traffic.

The party was in a black car on the right side of the roadway, according to the incident page. The crash resulted in one moderate and two minor injuries, radio traffic said.

As of 5:04 p.m., medic and rescue units were headed to the crash to complete a vehicle extrication.

Cal Fire requested a H70 helicopter to assist at the scene at 5:08 p.m., CHP said.

Traffic was slowed from Ragged Point to Salmon Creek, according to Caltrans’ QuickMap.
